★ The worlds most spectacular university city ★
For once you can believe the publicity: Oxford is the worlds most spectacular university city bar none, packed with an extraordinary surfeit of historic colleges, church, libraries, world-class museums, and an idyllic setting in the heart of the English countryside, ringed with rivers and meadows.
The Oxford *Essential* Guide features over 100 entries covering all aspects of the city: historic colleges and churches, museums and galleries, and places to eat, drink and shop – everything you need to know to make the most of your time in the city, backed up by almost 500 evocative photographs. Entries have been organized according to one of 12 categories – colleges, museums, cafes, restaurants, pubs and so on. All entries can be sorted by category, price, and location, allowing you to see exactly where you are in relation to places you want to visit, while the interactive maps show you exactly how to get there. There’s also detailed information about practical matters including tourist information, tours, transport and parking.
